| On June 07, 2018 at the Grandhotel Petersberg
The 15th Logistics & SCM Management Summit on future issues in logistics took place on 7 July 2018 at the Grandhotel Petersberg.
The presentations and expert discussions focused on the changes in logistics which have brought about by the digital transformation. The Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 not only bring new challenges, but also opportunities for efficient future logistics.
ebp-consulting was once again in attendance as a competent consulting partner and thanks to its extensive consulting expertise, was able to offer many interested convention participants an initial evaluation of their current logistical issues and even present them with model solutions. In many cases, the successful discussions led to follow-up activities and particularly the organisation of customer workshops tackling specific issues.
If you missed out on this exciting event and are interested in the topics mentioned above and the consulting expertise offered by ebp-consulting, then we would love to hear from you.

| ebp at the LogiMat 2018
ebp-consulting continued its tradition of attending the LogiMat in Stuttgart. The company presented successful and innovative solutions for productions and logistics, which have been developed and implemented in numerous projects. A particular focus was placed on optimisation approaches and tools relating to Industry 4.0. Examples include “Big data analytics for the optimisation of transports and inventories” and innovative “Intralogistics concepts 4.0”, which were particularly well received by visitors at our stand in Hall 6, D 81. We discussed specific company requirements with a large number of interested logistics specialists, substantiating our propositions with clear examples of solutions from the services portfolio of ebp-consulting. In addition, ebp-consulting was again approached with clear project enquiries that we discussed at the trade fair and that we will explore in greater detail during workshops with the potential clients later on. If you did manage to visit us at LogiMat, simply contact us via our website. We would gladly assist with any of your concerns.
| Expansion of market presence and client base in South Africa
ebp-consulting has operated successfully on the South African consultancy market for over 10 years and has implemented successful projects there, especially in the automotive industry. Now we have succeeded in securing one of the largest consultancy contracts in the company's history, which will run for several years and involve expanding the complete logistics in one of the country's largest production networks and then re-planning and implementing the structures according to lean production principles. Moreover, our joint venture with the established local consultancy firm AIH has helped build the foundation for a cross-sectoral expansion of our planning and consulting services in the areas of SCM, logistics, production and factory planning.
| Client presentation at the VDMA Logistics Conference
Like almost all mechanical and plant engineering companies, the market leader for extrusion technology, the Reifenhäuser Group, is facing the challenge of offering its customers a high level of delivery service for spare parts, while ensuring that the costs of inventory and warehousing remain acceptable. In a joint presentation with ebp-consulting, the head of services, Mr Marcus Schroeder, reported on the project to improve availability of spare parts while simultaneously optimising inventories. Although an evident contradiction, it was resolved by establishing a systematic policy for the scheduling of service parts. This was achieved through comprehensive data analysis of logistical movement patterns for all relevant article numbers and the subsequent classification of the articles according to a defined scheme. ebp’s proprietary, extremely efficient analysis and simulation tool was used to develop a scheduling policy and to systematically assess each of the respective performance indicators. This ebp tool enabled the development and comparison of different variants for delivery service and inventory costs. Successful implementation began with a pilot project, which also involved systematic training of the dispatchers. Among the key lessons learned was that scheduling parameters require continuous monitoring and, when necessary, modification, as a sustainable outcome will otherwise be impossible.
